Earlier this year we fostered a mama kitty and her babies. Recently the people who adopted one of the kitties sent us this note:
"We adopted this sweet little boy just before Christmas as a gift to each other. As long as he was healthy we could manage the expenses. A few weeks ago, at age four months, he developed a serious medical condition. It has been very costly to treat. We had planned to buy pet insurance but were still evaluating the policies when this hit.
"We really wanted a cat and really wanted to save one small life. When kitty was healthy we were okay, but the bills are piling up and we're struggling. So far it has cost well over $2400 to test and treat him, and is likely to go higher.
"We love him and do not want to give him up. He's already part of the family.
"I lost my job a couple of years ago, so only one of us is working. And we're cutting expenses everywhere we can.
"If anyone can spare even just a few dollars it would help if enough people can do it. And you would have our eternal thanks. All of us.
"Thank you and bless everyone for your caring, your compassion, and your help. We especially thank the many kind-hearted animal lovers who have already contributed to our veterinary expenses. You are truly making a difference in all our lives."
